The Tsumugu Project has reached as far as the United States … in the form of a flyer (in English)! You can pick them up at the Japan Information & Culture Center (JICC) – which is a part of the public affairs section of the Embassy of Japan in Washington – and other locations including major art museums.
The Tsumugu flyer carries an image of Kano Eitoku’s Chinese Lions – which unfortunately cannot be shown here – and gives you a brief explanation of what the project aims for and some of its achievements.
On the flip side, you will find articles from The Japan News – the English newspaper published by The Yomiuri Shimbun – on the Emperor’s visit to a Tsumugu exhibition, and Nihonhaku (Japan Cultural Expo), an arts and culture festival that will coincide with the 2020 Tokyo Olympics and Paralympics.
