The <em>oban<\/em> (standard print size) triptych depicts a scene from the &#8220;Story on the Loyalty of&nbsp;Uto Yasukata&#8221; by Santo Kyoden (artist and writer; 1761-1816), in which Princess Takiyasha (daughter of&nbsp;Heian-period warrior Taira<em> <\/em>no&nbsp;Masakado and sorceress) summons a giant skeleton specter to intimidate her family&#8217;s enemy.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Kuniyoshi was also famous for his fondness of cats, and is said to have held a kitten when he worked. As such, &#8220;The Story of Nippon Daemon and the Cat,&#8221; another <em>oban<\/em> triptych, and the newly found <em>oban<\/em> &#8220;Fashionable Cat Transformations,&#8221; which demonstrate his ailurophile tendencies, are for certain among the must-sees.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-tsumugu-blocks-modal-image wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"aligncenter\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/11\/1de96155e8b0dc8f13615f839f90b2da.jpg\" alt=\"\"\/><figcaption><strong>He Looks Scary but He is a Nice Person<\/strong><br\/>\u014cban<br\/>c.
