The exhibition will be held in commemoration of the 1,200th anniversary in 2024 of the temple's founding as well as the 1,250th anniversary of the birth of priest Kukai (774-835; posthumously known by his title Kobo Daishi), the founder of the Shingon school of Buddhism in Japan.
